Nicole McIver has a background in two-dimensional studio art and art history. She draws inspiration from diverse sources, including the decorative foliage in illuminated manuscripts and the secret symbolism of Victorian mourning jewelry. Nichole is a self-taught maker, creating each piece of her Acanthus collection by hand in her home studio in Central Minnesota. The collection features oxidized silver, 14k gold, and 24k gold, adorned with semi-precious and precious gemstones. Each piece reveals the artist's touch, from metal forming to stone setting and the intricate cutting of gold imagery.
